Back To School

Going back to school is an exciting time for most children. But for children experiencing homelessness and poverty – the first day of school can be difficult.

Instead of excitement, many children experience worry, anxiety, and fear. The Open Door Mission will be providing a brand new program called Success Net to compliment the Omaha Public Schools Family 3/2 Model. This is a 5 day a week program for school-aged children experiencing homelessness Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This program will focus on creating an atmosphere for our children to be successful academically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually. With your donation and/or gift of school supplies, children will receive new school supplies and a reason to look forward to school.
