Community Service

Open Door Mission gladly accepts community service participants from several programs/agencies including Diversion, General Assistance, Employment First, National Able Network, Court Ordered, and others. Learn how to get involved.
Open Door Mission gladly accepts community service participants from several programs/agencies including Diversion, General Assistance, Employment First, National Able Network, Court Ordered, and others.

How to get started:

1. Review our Standards and Guidelines.

2. Review our Community Service Policy.

3. Complete a Community Service Placement Form.

Completion of this Community Service Placement Form allows Open Door Mission’s online volunteer management system to track your sign in and sign out times automatically, making it easy to see how many hours you have completed.

4. It’s time to start!

For Diversion, Court Ordered, or General Assistance: You may simply walk into any of the outreach centers and tell them you are there to volunteer, please bring any paperwork that needs to be completed by us and we will take care of it at that time.

For National Able Network or Employment First: Please have your case manager contact volunteer@opendoormission.org for official placement.

You may simply walk into any of our locations below to begin volunteering! When you arrive just tell the staff member who greets you that you are there to volunteer and have already completed the online form.

All of our Outreach Centers are open for community service volunteers:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
