The Joy of Helping…

Every Monday, we have Senior Day at the Timberlake Outreach Center. Folks 55 and older can come shop once a month, with a different group coming each week. One lady recently told me she takes care of 4 grandchildren and was looking for some clothes to have when they come for a visit. I asked what sizes they wear and began helping her find clothing items that would fit. We located several things that would help her out. She was very happy, thanked me, and left with a big smile on her face. That made me happy to be able to help someone like that. Another lady came by the jewelry table looking for something new as her granddaughter loves to go through her jewelry, looking for something to wear. For me, taking the time to search the shopping area for items others need, is what brings true joy. If you have any jewelry in good condition, but you just don’t wear anymore, please consider donating it to the Mission. We will put it out for our seniors and it will surely brighten the day for them.
