Taxes are often considered a necessary evil by most Americans. We gather all the “important papers”, make sure we have the W-2s and all our deductions. So I started thinking, what if God gave us a W-2 for the work we do for Him? Would there be enough room to list all the “benefits” we receive by His hand? Would we have a “storehouse statement” showing how much “treasure” we have laid up the past year?

We are blessed by God to join in His work on earth. We are not coerced to do anything or punished by what we do not do for Him. God’s grace and mercy are free to all who choose to accept it. We should cheerfully be

about our Father’s business. Working with God is a life full of blessings, there is no retirement! God always has something for us to do. Parts of the job are easy…like praying for others; some jobs are hard…a missionary in a hostile land, but there is always something you can do.  So as you do your taxes thank the Lord you have an income, food on the table, a home…but above all for His love, grace, mercy and forgiveness. These things are invaluable, even priceless.
