Perissos

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.  –John 10:10

The Greek word for abundant is perissos.  The adjective means more, greater, excessive, abundant, exceedingly, or vehemently.  The noun means preeminence or advantage.
Jesus has come to give us ABUNDANT life.  With Jesus, our life is greater, exceedingly, and more.  This is the Word of the Lord!
In Genesis, the serpent told Adam and Eve,

“You will not certainly die [from eating the fruit]…For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  –Genesis 3:4-5.

The serpent told them a lie.  The truth is that God wants us to have that GREATER, EXCEEDINGLY, MORE life.  At times, we and our guests believe what the serpent told Adam and Eve, that God is holding out on them.  But that is not the truth.  God is our protector.
I am praying for an abundant life.  Lord, let the guests we serve see our abundant life.  Let them experience that abundant life through us.  Let them see that God is our protector and so much more.  Let them choose Jesus instead of any other idol.  Let them not believe any lies.
