Omaha, Clarinda, Council Bluffs, Papillion, Loomis…these are the towns I have recently visited or am scheduled to on upcoming Sundays. The size of the town and denomination of the congregation changes from week to week. Yet, each church I visit is filled with people who have a heart to make the love of Christ real– especially for those in need. Each has a ministry connection with Open Door Mission or would like to explore becoming partners with us.
On Sundays, I share how lives are being transformed through meals served, shelter provided, and life changing programs offered at Open Door Mission. God breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty in the lives of individuals and families here. We have folks from the Omaha area, Clarinda, Iowa (90 minutes away), Loomis, Nebraska (3 hours away), and everywhere in-between, share their time, talent, gifts, and prayers with those in need.
The people of God are amazing. He calls on each heart in a unique and wonderful way. As each congregation responds to the Lord’s call, we see changed lives at Open Door Mission and MANY MAKE IT HAPPEN. When I return from a church visit, I may be hauling back tangible expressions of love such as socks, clothes, diapers, food, and love offerings. I’ll also have intangible expressions of love, prayers, and commitments from folks who wish to volunteer in the future.
I always return in awe of these people I have met and their hearts of love. I would like to meet you too! Please consider inviting me to visit and share with your congregation. Just give me a call.
