Nebraska Methodist College decided to “Make a Difference” in a big way recently. They came to Open Door Mission to provide health screenings for our guests. Terry Jo, Open Door Mission’s Clinic Coordinator, loves it when groups come to help our guests stay healthy. These screenings are vital to the health care of the homeless. It allows Open Door Mission to be on top of possible medical problems or conditions. Diabetes detection is especially important. Undiagnosed diabetes causes a variety of health problems, including death. There were 134 student volunteers and 54 staff volunteers. A big thank you to Nebraska Methodist College for serving the community outside the classroom. You made a difference serving 100 guests. Here are some pictures from the event.
