Greater things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city. Every time I hear Chris Tomlin sing this song, it reminds me of Open Door Mission. I have worked here for seven months and have seen first hand how volunteers, donors, and employees work every day to bring hope to the hopeless and peace to the restless.
Open Door Mission serves 3 meals a day and provides shelter every day of the year for men, women, and children. At the Timberlake Outreach Center the community can shop for diapers, clothes and household items at no cost to them and receive a food pantry, too.
Volunteers make and deliver sack lunches to the community. Water patrols go out on 100+ degree days and search for people who need a cool drink and words of encouragement. Employees come on Sunday mornings to take clients to church and bible studies. Faithful donors contribute monetarily all year so all of these things are possible.
The holiday season is fast approaching and cold weather will soon be here. Please come and be a part of something bigger Become the light in the darkness for someone who needs comfort.
Make a difference in the lives of others by donating your gently used clothing, furniture and household items. Donations can be dropped off at our receiving area now located on the east side of the Timberlake Outreach Center, 2107 E Locust St
