Shawn, a former resident, now valued employee, works at the Timberlake Outreach Center in Receiving. He meets donors and those in need. Here, in his own words, is a special experience.
A while back I was walking through the Timberlake Outreach Center and was stopped by a couple that was shopping, asking for blankets. Usually I tell them what we have on the floor is what we have but this time I smelled campfire and I told them I would be right back. I found 3 big comforters and brought them to them and then I prayed for them. Today a new student stopped me and asked if I remembered him. He told me how they had been outside and it snowed the next day after they were here for the blankets. He went on and said that they may not of woke up if it were not for the blankets to keep them warm. We shook hands and he said since we prayed together everything has been looking up. I can’t believe I have the honor to work and do the will of God. My heart is so full with the joy I get to share every day. ~Shawn B.
