Frederick’s Airmen Serve Their Community and Their Country!

Open Door Mission is going through bottled water at a record pace as the heat wave continues with no end in sight. 7,000 bottles of cold water are being given to many homeless and needy men, women, and children in the Heartland. People working outside and the homeless living outside are dependent on bottled water to survive this heat.

Frederick’s Airmen, a group of airmen Sgt. Gill mentors,
know what it is like to work out in the heat. These airmen are members of the 55 Maintenance Operations Squadron. The airmen, led by Chelsea L. and Brandon O. had a drive to collect bottled water, new visor caps and lip balm for the homeless. They collected 25 cases of bottled water as well as hats and lip balm. These young airmen are showing that compassion and caring starts in your own backyard. A BIG thank to Chelsea and Brandon for spearheading the drive, and to Sgt. Frederick Gill for his leadership and mentoring. Once again our military give us reason to be proud.
