Filling the Library

Jul 7, 2010  |     |   General

Central Church of the Nazarene Ladies’ Book Club sponsored a book drive to provide quality reading material for the women, children and families at Lydia House. They collected almost 300 pounds of books for our clients to enjoy.

What a blessing to have a good book to read on a lazy summer day or to share a favorite story with your child. Like so many of us, the families and women at Lydia House love to read. The donated books will give the children an opportunity to stretch their imagination, explore new ideas and go on ‘mind adventures’.

After delivering the books, some of the ladies and their children took a tour of the new Lydia House. They were able to see how their donations will make a difference in the lives of others.

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of others? There are many ways you can reach out and help others at Open Door Mission by volunteering for a “hands on” experience: meal preparation and cleanup, stocking shelves at the Timberlake Outreach Center, or sponsor a drive to provide over-the-counter meds, socks and underwear, food and many other items.

I would love to visit with you about how YOU can make a difference. Please call me today.
