Disciplining Our Children with Love

At Open Door Mission we have started a program just to disciple our youngest guests, babies through high school. Lead by Tara, with help from volunteers, the children have 2 evenings a week of Bible curriculum, crafts, games and fellowship. The children are learning about God’s love in fun environment, and their parents get an hour of free time. Introducing children to God’s love at an early age gives them a “solid rock” to build their future.

“Baby Buddies “is the youngest group, ages birth to 2 years. Volunteering in that group gives you time rocking babies, reading to them and sharing your love of God with them. “Bright Space” is a little livelier with 3-5-year olds. Reading Bible stories, singing Bible songs and lots loving helps them hear God’s word and see it in action.  “Kid’s Club” is for children in the first through fifth grades.  This is a group that is becoming more aware of the world around them and need Bible knowledge to help them stay strong. This group will have questions! They are also fun to work with doing safe and fun activities and games. The “Teen Room” can be challenging, but a lot of fun too. This group is searching for answers, and showing them God’s way of looking at circumstances can give them lifelong knowledge. They need guidance and fun.  If you would like to join Tara by volunteering to be a part of the fun and learning just click on the link below. This program is growing as parents are discovering that the volunteers love being with their children. As this ministry grows (and it is!) we need more volunteers.  This is a family friendly volunteering activity. The whole family can be a part of putting God’s love into action, and blessing these special younger guests.  https://www.opendoormission.org/volunteer-category/2020-children-youth-volunteer-opportunity/
