The holidays are a good time to clean out those closets. Cleaning them out now serves a two-fold purpose…you get space for all the new Christmas gifts and your gently used items can benefit those that shop at the Timberlake Outreach Center. During the winter children’s outgrown, boots, coats and snow suits are much needed items. Take time to look through the whole family’s sweaters…what you no longer wear may be just the right fit for someone else. Getting a new ski outfit for Christmas, donate your old ones to Open Door Mission.
Other cold weather items that are often not thought of for donations are also needed. Long underwear, like “cuddle duds” or “long johns” are great donations. Carhartt outdoor gear is a real blessing. Don’t forget sleeping bags and blankets. How many extra sofa throws do you have just folded in a closet? Open Door Mission appreciates a donation of anything that keeps you warm, to help us keep others warm.
