I wanted to share with you a comment I received from a resident that touched my heart:
“Hi Candace, this is Karen, one of the women at Lydia House. I just wanted you to know that I feel so safe and at peace here. When I graduate in September, I will have a wonderful, fulfilling testimony to give on how Open Door Mission staff have helped me and given me so much encouragement when I wanted to give up. I have gone through more than you could know. On graduation day, I want to touch your hearts even more than you and your staff have touched mine. Please know, for sure, that I have learned THERE IS A GOD AND HE IS A HEALING AND A LOVING GOD. Thanks for having a place for me to come when I needed it the most. I LOVE YOU!”
Thank you for breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty…without you, this story would not have been possible.
