No doubt about it I believe young people are very caring and compassionate people. Alexis W. (in grade school) saw a need for shoes in Central/South American countries and decided to starting collecting some to send there. Then she realized that there are people in her own “backyard” that need shoes too. Alexis partnered with Open Door Mission to collect … maybe a couple of hundred shoes-she ended up collecting over 1,000 pairs! Alexis literally brought down a truckload of shoes to Open Door Mission, over 500 pairs for those we serve. Just think of all the lives she has touched here on the local mission field as well as the foreign mission field.
If you would like to help the “mission field in your own backyard” please contact me at Open Door Mission to set up your own drive to provide essential items for our clients. Show your compassion and caring, just like Alexis did.
