childWhen homeless children hear about God’s love for them, they realize for the first time, they are never alone. God is always with them.

Then the transformation begins. They grow in self-confidence. The worry and sadness, so often evident in their eyes, is replaced with curiosity and laughter. Their behavior improves. They have fun!

At Open Door Mission, we surround homeless children with the love of Christ and with activities that remind them they are kids. Our Bible Day Camp and other child-oriented activities combine reading and play, counseling and Bible teaching, educational tutoring, social skills, field trips and so much more to help little ones find hope again.

They need us … and we need you this summer.

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954. Each day, Open Door Mission ministries provides 320 men, women, and children with safe shelter beds, serves more than 1,500 hot nutritious meals, and provides preventive measures to more than 250 families living in poverty. to meet the basic physical needs of the hungry and homeless, the Open Door Mission’s day facility services provide free transportation from the downtown area to Open Door Mission and Lydia House. Open Door Mission offers life-changing programs for those recovering from life-altering addictions and abuse to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
