60% of homeless adults at Open Door Mission have less than a 6th grade education. Next to the Gospel, education is the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Listen to Rosemary’s journey to get her GED.
Being homeless in the summer is no picnic. Homeless men, women, and children have to deal with hot weather, dehydration, and no food, amongst other things. Open Door Mission provides a place where they can receive nutritious meals, a shower, a cold bottle water, a place to rest their heads, and so much more.
Follow Lisa in this throw-back video as she takes bottled water to the hot and thirsty homeless on the streets. Since 2013 (when this video was filmed), the Streets of Omaha program has grown exponentially (check it out here), but the need is still the same. Water is Open Door Mission’s most urgent need. Will you help?
