Where and when can I drop off donations?
Open Door Mission has four Family Outreach/Donation Centers with Receiving Areas for donations. The addresses and phone numbers are listed below. For a map of Open Door Mission’s main campus, click here.
Tax-deductible receipts are provided for all donations. For your convenience, Open Door Mission now has opened four total donation centers!
Timberlake Outreach Center and Family Outreach/Donation Centers Hours for Accepting Donations and Providing Services:
- Tuesday – Thursday 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Friday – Saturday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Sunday – Monday Closed
We have chosen to close on Sunday, the day most widely recognized as a day of rest, in order to allow our employees more time for worship and family.

Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes, all monetary and gift-in-kind donations are tax-deductible. Tax-deductible receipts are provided for all donations.
What donations can you NOT accept?
We gladly accept gently used clothing and shoes and functioning or gently used household items. These donations are vital to helping our clients. We do accept perishable food items, but please deliver these to the Community Kitchen in the Garland Thompson Men’s Center (2705 N 20th St E, Omaha, NE 68110).
Due to legal or particle considerations, we CANNOT accept the following items:
- Certain types of furniture:
- Mattresses/Wooden headboards
- Broken furniture
- Sleeper sofas/Hide-a-beds
- Organs or pianos
- Waterbeds/Waterbed frames/Waterbed headboards
- Certain types of electronics:
- Tube TVs
- Large projection TVs
- Old computers monitors
- Nonworking electronics, radios, or televisions
- Certain types of appliances:
- Built-in appliances
- Dishwashers (Unless portable)
- Certain types of construction supplies:
- Concrete blocks or bricks
- Used carpet
- Used paint, solvents, or grease
- Miscellaneous items:
- Tires of any kind
- Wet clothing
- Expired infant car seats

Do you pick up donations?
Due to the rising costs in fuel, transportation barriers, lack of storage and costs, Open Door Mission can no longer accept mattresses and will no longer schedule pick-ups of furniture in the community.
However, you can call up Green Arrow Junk Co! This community partner is offering to deliver donations to Open Door Mission at a discounted rate.
