Department: Lydia House
Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 3:30pm - 12:00am Tuesday through Saturday
Located In: Omaha, NE

Position Description

 If you are looking for a rewarding job in a Christian ministry then do we have the job for you! The Open Door Mission is a gospel rescue mission providing basic needs and life-changing programs for the homeless and needy.

• You must be non-smoker and be a regular attendee of a Christian Church.
• Handle crises with women, children and families to resolve problems/concerns.
• Maintain files, notes and documentation on clients.
• Monitor the dispensing of medications.
• Teach and role model the use of problem solving skills to settle disagreements and relationship issues.
• Attend staff meetings and ODM staff meetings.
• Responsible for sharing gospel with all new intakes using forms in intake package.

Education/Training: Associate degree in human service administration or related area.

Experience/Background/Knowledge: Two years experience in social services or family support services. Spiritual training in ministries.

Skills: Counseling skills, computer skills, knowledge of multi-cultural counseling, crisis intervention training. Knowledge of chemical dependencies and rehabilitation. Knowledge of domestic violence and mental illness treatments.
